Create a variable

You can create a variable in two ways; from the main menu or while working in a table or frame.

Create a new variable from main menu

1. Select New > Variable
   • The variable properties dialogue will open with a pre-filled variable name and default settings.
2. Rename the variable and change the default settings as required.
3. Click Create to save the variable

Create a new variable from tables and frames

1. Type directly into the condition or action stub.
   • When creating a new condition or action in a knowledge table a new variable will automatically be introduced and visible in the navigator.
2. Type directly into a frame variable row.
   • In a frame, all new entries are considered variables except when creating an aggregation (see the section on Frames for more information).
