Link Domain Elements to Variable MD3

This feature is possible for variables of types Text List, Text Length and Number List. In the case of a Text Length variable the interval is "inherited" from the "parent" variable. In the other cases the set of domain elements.

Create link to variable

In Inspector with the variable properties, section Link domain elements, click the combobox Variable. A list with other variables appears. They are the same type as the currently edited variable. Select one of the list.

Please do not confuse comboboxes. Use here the first combobox Variable under the label Link domain elements.

Remove link to variable

In Inspector section Link domain elements click the combobox Variable. The list of variables appears, but the first item is empty. Select that item.

Checkbox Use available value(s)

The checkbox Use available value(s) is under the used combobox Variable. When this option is enabled, the inferring of variables changes. See the next example. A variable Fruits preferred has domain elements Apple, Banana, Orange, Peach. It is multi-valued (Allow multiple values is on). It also has element No fruit today which is marked exclusive.

Another variable Fruit today's favorite has its domain linked to variable Fruits preferred. It is single-valued. Checkbox Use available value(s) is on.

In a consultation Fruits preferred is asked first. The user selects one, two or three fruits.

Next Fruit today's favorite is asked. Option Use available value(s) comes into effect: only the one, two or three fruits answered earlier are available. The user cannot choose a favorite fruit that is not set as preferred earlier.

A special case is: the user wants no fruit today. As a first step he answers No fruit today. This exclusive element cannot be combined with other possibilities (Apple, Banana, ...). In the second step the only available choice is No fruit today.
